What is included in the Rental price?

What deposits do I have to pay test?
  • A reservation deposit of £200 is required to secure your booking; this deposit is non-refundable.
  • At the time of collecting the Campervan or Motorhome a Security Deposit of £1,500 must be paid (£1,000 for Outlander Campervans), this can be paid be any major debit or credit card and as long as the Campervan or Motorhome is returned in the same condition will be refunded within 5 to 7 working days of your return date.
  • The Security Deposit will be increased to £2,000 when 4 or more adults are travelling in the same Motorhome.
Can the Insurance Excess be reduced?

We offer Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) -

  • Reduce the Excess from £1,500 to £1,000 at a cost of £20 per night.
  • Reduce the Excess from £1,500 to £500 at a cost of £30 per night. *
  • Reduce Windscreen Damage Excess to nil at a cost of £95
  • Reduce Tyre Damage Excess to nil at a cost of £95

  • Alternatively you may wish to consider secondary insurance to cover this excess such as that provided by Worldwide Insure.


    *This CDW is not available to drivers under 30-years of age or when 4 adults or more are travelling in the Motorhome.

     

    What methods of payment do you accept?
    We accept all major debit and credit cards and payments made by bank transfer.   We can set up a Worldpay Payment link to enable you to pay securely online.  We do not accept AMEX.
    What does Fully Equipped really mean?
    We describe our Motorhomes as fully equipped that means we think we have included everything that we think that you may need. 

    Things like - 
    Kitchen Equipment: - cutlery, crockery, mugs, glasses, utensils (including scissors, corkscrew, tin opener, peeler), measuring jug, colander, pans, frying pan, gas kettle, electric kettle & toaster.
    Cleaning Equipment - washing up liquid, dish towel, cleaning cloths, cleaning spray, toilet chemical, dust pan and broom.
    Outdoor Equipment - outdoor table and chairs, levelling blocks, hook-ip cable, water hose.
    How do I book campsites?

    The Motorhome is a member of the The Camping and Caravanning Club.

    Book your campsite by simply calling their service centre on 024 7647 5426 for Club Sites or 024 7647 3008 for the Camping in the Forest sites and let the advisor know that you are booking under the Privilege Scheme. A minimal deposit will be taken and upon arrival at the Club Site, your due balance will be discounted accordingly on presentation of the Privilege key fob on the Motorhome’s keys. Alternatively, you can make a non-member booking online and follow the same process.

    What is the booking and rental process?
    • Contact us with your preferred Motorhome and date, we will reply with pricing and availability Confirm that you would like to proceed.
    • We will send a Internet Payment Gateway link to enable you to pay a £200 booking deposit
    • On receipt of your payment we will send you a booking confirmation 6-weeks before your rental start date the balance of your rental will fall due, we will send you a Internet Payment Gateway Link to enable you to pay this and ask for confirmation of any optional extras that you may require.
    • 1-2weeks before your rental start date we will confirm that we have all the information that we require and ask the drivers to sign a UK Licence Declaration Form.
    • Upon arrival at our office we will take you through the Rental Agreement and ask you to pay the £1,500 security deposit, we will then take you to the Motorhome and demonstrate all of the controls and systems to you and ask you to sign a check sheet.
    • When you return the Motorhome we will carry out a brief check of the Motorhome, our cleaner will carry out a more thorough check during the cleaning process. You can expect the security deposit to be refunded within 3 to 5 working days assuming the Motorhome is in the same condition as when you received it.
    Who should I bring to your office?
    Anyone that wants to drive the Motorhome must be present to sign the Rental Agreement and the Insurance Declaration. All Drivers must bring their Driving Licence along with a secondary form of identification such as a passport or a utility bill.
    What if we have to cut our holiday short? Will we get our money refunded?
    No. Whilst we are very concerned with our client's well being, we recommend purchasing travel insurance.
    How long will the Campervan or Motorhome handover take?
    After signing your Rental Agreement please allow 30 to 45 minutes for a demonstration of the Motorhome and the use of it's systems.

    Payment, Insurance and Driving Licences

    What is the Insurance Excess?
    This is the amount that you will be required to pay in the event that you damage the Motorhome or cause damage with the Motorhome to another party’s vehicle or property. Our standard excess is £1,500 (£1,000 in the Outlander Campervans).

    If four or more adults are travelling in the Motorhome, the Insurance Excess and will be increased to £2,000.

    We offer Collision Damage Waiver, Tyre Damage Waiver and Windscreen Waiver to reduce this Excess.
    What level of insurance is included?
    We include Full Comprehensive Insurance for up to two named drivers.

    Are there age restrictions for driving a Motorhome?
    Our insurance stipulates that drivers must be over 25-years and under 70-years of age at the time of the rental.  If you fall outwith this age range please enquire, we may still be able to offer insurance but with special conditions imposed.
    Can all nationalities hire a Motorhome?
    We are currently limited by our Insurance provider and can only insure those with a UK, European, USA, Canadian and Australian Licence.  Other nationalities should enquire and we will seek special insure approval in advance of any bookings.
    Do I need to bring my passport to the office?
    Yes, a passport is our preferred method of secondary identification however for UK customers if you don't have one we can accept utility bills and bank cards.
    Do I need an international driving licence?
    No, however, an international drivers licence is recommended for ease of use.
    Do I need a special driver's licence?
    All of our Motorhomes can be driven with a standard driving licence.
    Do I need a clean driving licence?

    You must have no major endorsements on your driving licence or have been banned from driving within the last 10-years.

    How long do you need have had a full driving licence?

    Drivers must have at least 3-years driving experience with a full licence.

    What do I do if I am involved in an accident?
    • Notify our office immediately.
    • Get copies of all the police reports including the case number.
    • Complete the Accident Report Form (in the Welcome Information Pack), getting all the information of the other party (if there is one) and their insurance details and any witness information.
    • Take as many photographs as you can including the location, signage and vehicles or property involved.
    What forms of identification are required?
    All Drivers must bring their Driving Licence along with a secondary form of identification such as a passport or a utility bill
    Are the Motorhomes right-hand drive?
    Yes, all our Motorhomes and Campervans are right hand-drive.  We sometimes use the manufacturer's images, we are sorry if this caused any confusion.

    Collecting & Returning the Motorhome

    Who should I bring to your office?
    Anyone that wants to drive the Motorhome must be present to sign the Rental Agreement and the Insurance Declaration. All Drivers must bring their Driving Licence along with a secondary form of identification such as a passport or a utility bill.
    When should I arrive to collect the Motorhome? What time can we collect the Motorhome?
    Please arrive at the Pick-Up time you have booked.  If you would like to change this time please contact our office on 0044 (0)141 773 1212

    After signing the Rental Agreement please allow 45 minutes for a demonstration of the Campervan  or Motorhome and the use of it's systems.  During this handover, our employee will explain the operation of the Campervan and Motorhome and they will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
    How long will the Campervan or Motorhome handover take?
    After signing your Rental Agreement please allow 30 to 45 minutes for a demonstration of the Motorhome and the use of it's systems.
    In what condition must the vehicle be returned?

    The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was in at the time of pick up.

    • The Motorhome should be clean inside.
    • The fuel level should be the same as at the time of collection.
    • There should be at least one full gas cylinder (the spare), the connected gas cylinder should not be empty.
    • The Grey Water tank (waste water) must be empty, there are usually facilities on campsites for doing this and you will be shown how to do this during the handover/ demonstration.
    • The Toilet Cassette must be empty, you will be shown how to do this during the handover/ demonstration.
    • Failure to empty the waste will result in a charge of £50.
    Will you drive me from the office to the airport?
    Yes, we offer Airport Transfers as an Optional Extra.
    Should I arrange a return time?
    Yes, during the booking process you will be able to select a return time.
    What if I return my vehicle after the arranged return times?
    Unfortunately we will charge a late return fee please refer to our Terms and Conditions. By returning the Campervan or Motorhome rental late, you may be inconveniencing other holidaymakers. If the vehicle is not returned on time, the following rental may be delayed because the Campervan or Motorhome has to go through our thorough Vehicle Preparation Process before it's next adventure.
    Does your office allow after hour returns?
    Only by special arrangement and subject to a surcharge.
    What if I want to extend my holiday while I am on the road?
    Extended days are subject to availability and require approval from our office.

    Using the Motorhome

    Are the Motorhomes right-hand drive?
    Yes, all our Motorhomes and Campervans are right hand-drive.  We sometimes use the manufacturer's images, we are sorry if this caused any confusion.
    Do we need to hook up?
    No not necessarily but it is recommended so that you benefit from all of the on board facilities, without a mains electrcity you will not be able to use the 240volt plug sockets that power kettles, toaster or other appliances; only low voltage items can be powered from the battery system.
    Are Motorhomes difficult to drive?
    No, Motorhomes are not difficult to operate. They are usually pretty similar to cars except that they are a little bit higher in their centre of gravity and it takes them longer to accelerate or decelerate.
    Motorhome in Winter Months

    A Motorhome is very cosy and from Autumn through to Spring the colours in Scotland and scenery is wonderful.

    We want all of our clients to enjoy their Motorhome holiday regardless of the time of year but when heading off during the winter months you need to safeguard yourself from low temperatures.

    When the temperature inside the Motorhome drops below 5 degrees the systems will protect themselves by shutting down and releasing all on board water.

    We recommend that you stay on a campsite for a few reasons you will have access to a Motorhome Service Point where you can replenish fresh water, safely dispose of chemical toilet waste and drain off the grey water waster tank.  Campsites may have an electric hook up at your pitch as an additional source of power and most have toilet and shower facility blocks.

    Campsite Questions

    What should I look for in a prospective campsite?
    The location of the campsite is important -
    • Is it close to the town or attractions that you are interested in?
    • Is it walking distance or is it close to a regular public transport service?
    • What additional facilities and amenities does it offer?
    • How much will it cost?
    • Are the access times restricted, do they suit your itinerary?

     

    What facilities do campsites offer?
    • Every campsite has something different to offer, some basic facilities offered include flush toilets and showers (although not every one offers these).
    • Other facilities offered range from pools, hot tubs, laundry facilities, golf courses, restaurants, local pubs and grocery shops.
    • Please inquire into your prospective campsite about what facilities or amenities available.
    Is it necessary to make reservations for campsites?
    It is not necessary to make reservations for campsites, but it is recommended. Popular campsites can book up quickly during long weekends, holidays, and the summer months.
    How do I book Friendly Camping and Caravanning campsites?

    Discount on Site Fees

    To add value to your camping experience we  are members of The Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege Scheme, which entitles you to up to 30% off Club Sites and 15% off Camping in The Forest Sites. In your hire unit you will find a copy of the Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege Guide, which lists all participating sites helping you to choose the perfect location throughout your entire journey. You can also find details of their sites on the Club website www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk

    When you've selected the Club Site you'd like to stay on, all you have to do is show them the Privilege key fob, which you will find on the keys of your hire vehicle, on arrival to claim your discount.

    How to Book

    Other Questions

    Is it safe to travel with children in a Motorhome?
    All children less 125cm and 22kg should travel in a car safety seat.  We offer Child Safety Seats in our optional extras and will request weigh & height information of the child so that we can offer the correct seat.

    As far as possible children should sit in the forward facing seats of the Motorhome in the correct safety seat for their size.

    We offer bed rails for younger children at bed time, some models of Motorhome have these available as standard, please ask if you are unsure.
    Do you allow dogs (pets)?
    Yes, we currently have two pet friendly Motorhomes, please contact us for availability.

    Due to allergies dogs are not allowed in all of our Motorhomes.

    Do all Motorhomes have a Bike Rack?
    No but a Bike Rack is available on some Motorhomes.

    When booking online a Bike Rack is included in the price of the Wallace with Bike Rack and Bruce with Bike Rack.

    A Bike Rack is an  Optional Extra (subject to availability) on the following models - 
    • Munro De Luxe
    • Munro De Luxe Automatic
    • Braveheart

    The bike racks are able to carry a maximum combined weight of 60kg.

    No, it is not difficult to do, we will demonstrate this to you when we handover the Motorhome.

    We have a selection of manual and automatic transmission Motorhomes.

    Do any of the Motorhomes have ISO-Fix for child safety seats?
    No none of our Motorhomes have ISO-Fix.
    We do offer the rental child safety seats as an optional extra, these can be secured with the lap and diagonal belts.

    How much diesel mileage does a Motorhome get?
    Motorhomes usually achieve approximately 25 miles per gallon. This will vary depending on the Motorhome load and driving speed.
    Are Motorhomes difficult to drive?

    What if my Motorhome breaks down?
    • Our Motorhomes are all regularly serviced and maintained in the unlikely event that the Motorhome breaks down please call our office immediately on 0141 773 1212.
    • Please notify our office before approving of any repairs or towing.  If our office has not approved repair costs, you may not be reimbursed these.
    What if I want to extend my holiday while I am on the road?
