Gift Vouchers are an excellent choice as a Christmas, birthday, wedding, retirement gifts or just because the special person deserves a treat. The lucky recipient will have a memorable road trip to reflect on for years to come.
We’ve put together some of our top reasons why giving the gift of motorhome travel is the perfect gift (although we may be a little biased!). But experiences are always more memorable than material possessions, and there's no better way to create lasting memories than by exploring new places.
1. Freedom to travel
One of the very best things about choosing a motorhome holiday is the freedom it brings – you can travel when you want, where you want and as far as you want. There’s no rush to the airport, long flights, queues at security, or hassle with luggage and suitcases. No flight times, bus timetables or arrival times at a hotel. With a motorhome you do everything at your own pace. You can find a beautiful spot you didn’t expect and stop there for the night. If you reach a destination that you want to spend more time exploring, you’re free to stay for as long as you want.
2. Motorhomes make for fantastic family holidays
Motorhome road trips are a fun and unique way to travel with children. There is a great sense of adventure in a motorhome or campervan, and you get to enjoy quality time together. Taking a family holiday in a motorhome is so rewarding, as you are introducing your kids to something new and encouraging them to enjoy the great outdoors. You can introduce them to all the wonders of nature, whether that’s exploring forests or collecting seashells on the beach and do it all at your own pace.
In a motorhome you have more storage space than you would if you were camping, so you can bring more games and toys – which can be extremely necessary when travelling with toddlers to ensure they have enough familiar things surrounding them. You also don’t have to unpack and repack at every destination, anyone with kids knows what a nightmare that can turn into!
Our larger motorhomes are best suited for travelling with kids. Some of the most suitable family motorhomes we offer are the 2-5 berth
Bruce, or the 4-6 berth
Munro. Find your perfect motorhome

3. Getting close to nature
Travelling by motorhome allows you to truly experience Scotland and all it has to offer. You get to drive anywhere you want, up rugged cliffs or rolling hills or the simple open road. You can stop anywhere you like, either to sit and enjoy the view, or to set up camp. You can sleep with the night sky so close, with nothing but the sound of silence. You can enjoy the beauty of a storm while cosy and dry inside and listen to the rain on your roof. You can make a cup of tea, and then sit and watch the sunrise (or sunset). You can spend your days exploring nature trails and forest paths, and then come back to a comfy bed. You can explore an unspoilt beach and go for an invigorating swim. Cycling fan? You can cycle down the most beautiful paths Scotland has to offer and keep your bikes on the back of the motorhome. The opportunities are endless.
4. Your furry friend won’t miss out
You never have to leave an important member of the family behind – motorhome travel is pet friendly! No expensive kennels to book into or pet passports to arrange – just bring them along for the ride and they can enjoy a holiday too. Scotland is the best playground for fantastic walks with your furry family! They can stretch their legs and use up lots of energy across the numerous white sandy beaches, hill walks or forest tracks.
Many of our
motorhomes are suitable for pets and we allow them to join you free of charge with just a few house rules and sticking respectfully to the guidelines of the Scottish outdoor access code. It’s a perfect holiday choice meaning no one gets left out and the memories made include the whole family!
5. It’s more comfortable than camping
Camping can be fun but it’s not always particularly comfortable. Even the softest sleeping bag or chair will often result in a crick in your neck. And when you start to get older, these things only get worse. Add in some unfavourable Scottish weather, and camping can start to feel a little miserable. A motorhome is a fabulous upgrade to going camping - when it’s wet or cold, you will be far more comfortable in a motorhome.
Although motorhomes come in many different sizes and models, what they all have in common is that they strive for comfort. Most of our motorhomes are equipped with various modern facilities such as a shower and toilet, kitchen, fridge, digital TV and heater. All your cooking and eating equipment is also provided, along with comfy beds and seats. Motorhomes are like a little home on wheels, so that you can explore and travel whilst retaining that home vibe.
There is no need to pitch a tent, either. You simply drive to your destination, pull on the handbrake, turn off the engine and you’re ready to kick back/cook/relax/sleep. There are no schedules to follow, like those that would be in place on a typical organised tour, because you simply pick a destination and drive, or you can even just make up your own perfect itinerary.
Scotland offers such easy accessibility to all parts of the country and has a great network of roads, so you’re spoiled for choice in where to go. There are also plenty of campsites dotted across the country so you will rarely be far from good facilities.
